How to wear the Boyfriend Jacket

Roll the Sleeves - Before rocking this fab style, don't forget to roll up the sleeves. Most blazers have nice lovely linings that can be showed off if you roll up the sleeves twice. This gives a little more edge vs the classic preppy look that we've all gotten so accustomed to.

Shoulder Pads - The boyfriend jacket look is a throwback to the 80's. Some are made with the shoulder pads which gives great definition to anyone's frame. But if it's not your style, go for the ones without the pads. The key is comfort.

Andrew Marc "Maddy" saddle style bag....I saw it in person in Loehmann's today in a beautiful leaf green color called Clover for $299.99. Beautiful soft leather. But the bag is available in yellow for $239.99 on overstock.com . The downfall to this bag as beautiful as the style and leather is, it can't fit on your shoulder. So while women love to carry their hands sometimes we like to throw over our shoulders and this bag would be impossible to that with. But if you don't mind carrying a bag in your hand.....the green would be an excellent choice for spring. Tons of pop!!!

Now everyone knows Gwen Stefani's fashion shoe line L.A.M.B makes trendy stylish shoes that are pretty pricey. On Monday I saw this pair of pumps at Loehmmann's by L.A.M.B called Valeria for only $139.99. If you're an avid shopper at Loehmann's you get 10% off every purchase everyday by signing up for their gold card. Membership cost is $25 but it truly pays for itself if you there often.


These pumps are true to size. In fact as I was trying them on, a young woman came up to me and told me she tried on these very same shoes at Nordstrom the day before at the regular price of $299.

Trendy vs. Classic: Updating your Wardrobe

There are tons of reasons to buy classic over trendy. With the economy in a slump buying classic pieces that will have lasting power in your wardrobe is an investment. The question is....How can you be fashionably relevant without broke? Here are a few tips:
